SALT OF THE EARTH is a Los Angeles based family owned catering company with both professionally trained chefs and what we like to call “Down Home” southern style cooks. The fusion of the two techniques, style and cuisines has added a unique flavor blend option to some of our specialty dishes.

The team is led by Executive Chef Stephan Johnson who got his start in catering doing small events and churches before launching into the entertainment industry. Chef Stephan earned his reputation as a “Master Grill Chef” after winning several local BBQ competitions, including taking home the ribbon for best BBQ sauce in 2012. In 2013, Chef Johnson showcased his skills at a celebrity gifting suite in Hollywood and it wasn’t long before the word got out and is team was flooded with calls for events. The team has been contracted to cater corporate meetings, celebrity events, and private dinner events for industry executives.
